WHY CAN’T I ACCESS THE INNER PORTAL OR SERVER MENU?
It is possible that if you bought your mag 250 or 254 from a dealer, the box may be locked to their own portal.
The provider can restrict access to just about anything within the mag 254 software.
Currently we do not know of a reliable way in which to ‘unlock’ boxes that have been restricted by the provider.
WHAT IS THE INNER PORTAL?
The inner portal is the mag 254’s preloaded software.
It allows you to load a variety of apps, such as games, weather information, internet browser etc.
DOES THE MAG 254 HAVE WIFI BUILT IN?
In most cases no, it is an optional extra from the factory, but from our experience 99% don’t have it.
You can however buy a USB WiFi adaptor that connects to the rear USB port of the MAG 254, you can then configure the WiFi through the network settings from the inner portal.
WHAT IS A MAG 254 / MAG 250 IPTV SET TOP BOX?
The MAG 254 (or older MAG 250) is an IPTV set top box made by Infomir capable of receiving IPTV streams in a variety of formats.
The mag 254 most commonly connects to a stalker portal in order to receive an IPTV channel list and programme information, this is then displayed on screen as an Electronic Programme Guide, making it very easy to browse an on screen list of channels and programme information, such as a TV guide.
The mag 254 does not have to connect to a stalker portal in order to receive an IPTV stream. It comes pre loaded with an ‘Inner Portal’ allowing you to directly input IPTV stream information.
WHAT IS A STALKER PORTAL?
A stalker portal is the bit between your MAG 254 and the actual IPTV feeds.
It provides the mag 254 all of the information that is required to get the stream from a server on to your TV.
WHAT IS THE BEST PORTAL FOR UK TV?
We don’t know, please stop asking us!
We’re not being rude, but we do not host any portals or channel lists, we simply sell the boxes, at a very reasonable price >
WHAT TV CHANNELS CAN I RECEIVE?
None initially.
The Mag 254 /Mag 250 does not come with any preloaded IPTV channels or streams.
In order to view IPTV, you need to either enter stream information manually, or more commonly enter a portal address.
The portal address is the url of an on line IPTV middleware server, this is what gives the mag 254 it’s channel list.
Here at MAGIP.TV we do NOT provide any portal information whatsoever, if you are looking for a portal for your mag 250 / 254 then google it, there are plenty out there!
